Key Features:
With the significant rise in orthodontic treatments—both fixed and removable systems—using digital planning, such as Invisalign, CA® CLEAR ALIGNER, and ClearCorrect, there has also been an increase in gingival recessions. It is well known that orthodontic movements can inherently lead to this side effect during or after treatment. Even certain types of retainers can contribute to recession over time. This highlights the importance of identifying potential risk factors associated with these therapies to prevent or minimize their occurrence. Additionally, it is crucial to inform patients about possible treatment approaches should gingival recession occur.
Aims & Objectives:
The aim is to equip delegates with up-to-date periodontal and orthodontic concepts before initiating orthodontic movement, enabling them to identify potential risk factors for bone loss or gingival recession and understand possible treatment approaches if it occurs.
1. Understand the role of the periodontal and dental anatomy on treatment planning.
2. Gain insight into the periodontal biotype and the effects that orthodontic movement may have on its changes.
3. Understand the necessary bone level required before starting orthodontic movements.
4. Identification of cases that require multi-disciplinary approaches.
